Overall, it has been 10 super intense days of early wake ups chasing the best natural light for our film, although we are very pleased to announce we are almost finished filming 'The Waterkeeper'.
Now we need to start editing and creating the soundscape. Today we will be meeting with local musician Rebwar, to arrange the details of the musical collaboration. Soon we hope, we will also start workshopping in and around Suly, using the film and its characters as a way to engage with the participants we are aiming to reach with our arts-environmental message.
As you can imagine, it has not all been dumps an (lovely) rubbish; we have also been able to work in some of the most beautiful spots in Kurdistan. Below are some pics of the location where the film's 'River Spirit/Waterkeeper' inhabits, representing the origins that our antagonists journey towards.
Wara wara!
